Description
The nose is beautifully expressive, revealing layers of dark plum, cassis, blackberry, dark chocolate, crushed violets, clove spice, and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, the wine is remarkably harmonious, combining generous fruit concentration with freshness and precision. Velvety tannins provide depth and structure, while vibrant acidity lifts the wine through a long, elegant finish marked by dark berries, spice, and refined savoury complexity.
Widely regarded as one of the Cape’s greatest modern vintages, 2015 produced wines with exceptional balance and aging potential. In magnum format, The Jem develops even more slowly and gracefully, preserving freshness while building additional complexity over time. Now entering a magnificent drinking window, it offers both immediate enjoyment and many years of future evolution.
A superb choice for collectors, milestone celebrations, and fine dining occasions, pairing beautifully with beef fillet, prime rib, roast lamb, venison, and mature hard cheeses.
Following maturation, the final blend was assembled and bottle-aged before release, resulting in a wine of seamless integration and exceptional aging potential.
