Who We Are
Cape Ardor Wine is a small team of wine geeks with one mission: To bring you wines you’ll love from your favorite wine destinations across the globe. Founders and partners in wine, Eric and Kara Matkovich, established this mission 16 years ago, and have since partnered with over 100 of the world's best wineries to bring boutique fine wines to a global audience.
Our culture is tight-knit and customer-obsessed, with a focus on great communication, radical curiosity, strict quality control, and genuinely helpful customer service.

As we strive to bring the best wines in the world to the best customers in the world, we are also mindful of our responsibility to the communities and environments from which our wines are sourced.
To this end, we are proud to partner with two incredible non-profit organizations that align with our values: Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and The Pebbles Project. These champions of conservation and community upliftment are making a real, lasting impact in their respective fields. Through our 'Giving Back' programs we have the honor of contributing to their important work, and empowering you to do the same with every bottle of wine you buy.

We choose wines for our ever-growing portfolio by carefully tasting each vintage, reviewing flavor profiles, interviewing winemakers, and listening to your feedback to find the wines you’ll really love and make them available to you. From vine to glass, these are masterfully crafted wines that we are proud to offer our clients. And thanks to the skill and creativity of some of the world’s best winemakers, we can boast arguably one of the largest portfolios of new world fine wines available in the United States.

Our criteria for selecting winery partners is strict but simple, with an emphasis on quality, flavor, and consistency throughout vintage rolls.
Ultimately, the wineries we work with are much more than just vendors or brands. We work closely with our winery partners to help them supercharge their DTC sales, get actionable insights from their tasting room data, and become more in-tune with their customers.
