General Shipping Information
Shipping regulations are complex and changing constantly. By purchasing on our site, you are responsible for knowing the particulars of your destination. For inquiries regarding shipping availability to your state, please contact us at orders@cape-ardor.com or +1 888-812-2543.

Release Schedule: Orders are released Monday through Friday. We do not release orders on weekends or observed holidays.

Adult Signature Required: You must be 21+ years to order or receive wine. Carriers will require an adult (21+) to be present at delivery with valid identification.
We strongly recommend using a commercial, daytime address to receive your order where an adult will be present to sign for your order.
Order Processing and Timeframes
Cut-off Time:
Orders placed for in-stock items will ship the same day if placed before 3 PM PT. Orders placed after this time will ship the next business day.
On order, if you selected Split Ship in-stock items and the qty is 12 bottles or more available, we will release the in-stock items with no additional charges.
If you have stored wines or wines on backorder, they may require additional processing time.
PreOrdered and Backordered Wines:
- If your order contains Pre-Ordered or Backordered wines, and is less than 12 bottles total, we will hold your entire order, unless you stipulate to ship in-stock wines separately on checkout or through customer service. (Additional shipping fees will be applied.)
- Pre-ordered wines are subject to extended lead times due to international shipping, customs delays, and other factors. Estimated arrival dates are for guidance only and are not guaranteed.
- We will send you a message 24 hrs before releasing your order to allow you to reschedule for convenience.
- Pre-order wines that are then canceled are subject to a 50% restocking fee.
Weather Conditions and Associated Risks
Shipping during extreme heat or cold can damage wine. While we take every precaution, Cape Ardor will not be responsible for damage from weather conditions once your package leaves our warehouse.
Weather Hold Policy
If you reside in or your package travels through areas with extreme temperatures, we will:
Hold your order in our temperature-controlled warehouse until conditions improve, up to 6 months free of charge, unless you choose one of our 'Release Now' options at checkout, either with or without an ice pack. Should you choose to release your order immediately despite extreme temperatures, delivery will be at your own risk.
- Send you an email notification regarding the release date and estimated delivery window (not guaranteed.)
- Using an cold pack option does not guarantee your wine will be delivered safely, nor do we.
- For residential deliveries, missed first-attempt deliveries can subject your package to extended heat exposure.
- We recommend shipping to a business address to ensure morning delivery. Business addresses are also more likely to have an adult present to sign for delivery on 1st attempt.
Returns and Cancellations
Requests for cancellations must be made within 7 days of the order date and before being packed & released to the carriers.
Refunds are subject to:
- 15% restocking fee for general returns.
- 50% restocking fee for special order wines.
Cape Ardor will replace the next available vintage if the original vintage is no longer in stock. This does not warrant a return or discount.
Missed Deliveries
Orders returned after the 3rd delivery attempt will incur:
- Return shipping fees
- Re-shipment costs
We strongly advise using UPS MyChoice to manage your package, where available.
Note: We can not cancel and restock wine once it has left our warehouse, as we can not verify product integrity.
Non-Refundable Orders
Orders placed through our CellarX Wineries Program are non-refundable due to pre-ordered commitments.
Refunds will not be issued for wines that:
- Do not meet personal taste preferences.
- Have been improperly stored after delivery.
Damaged Merchandise
If your product is damaged during shipment, please contact us immediately at orders@cape-ardor.com or 888-812-2543. While we are not responsible for carrier-related damages, we will assist in filing a claim with the carrier.
Shipping Policies By Region
- Alaska and Hawaii: Shipments utilize 2-Day Air.
- PO, APO, and FPO Addresses: We do not ship to these addresses.
- International Shipping: Cape Ardor does not currently ship internationally.
Billing Information
- Your credit card will be billed at the time of purchase, even for pre-ordered or back-ordered wines. This guarantees your allocation.
- If a pre-ordered wine becomes unavailable, you will receive a full refund.
Holiday Shipping Deadlines
We encourage early orders to account for potential carrier delays. Contact us for specific holiday shipping cut-off times.
Protecting Your Wine During Transit
For customers shipping during extreme weather:
- Cold Packs: We offer insulated cold wine shippers for an additional fee. You will select this option at checkout. For questions, contact us.
- Weather Holds: Take advantage of our warehouse hold service to delay shipping until conditions improve.
