Intensely concentrated berries result in a wine that displays the bold refinement reminiscent of a Northern Rhône Syrah. Rich blackberries, currants, and cherries burst onto the palate, while hints of black olive, pepper, smoke, and even bacon add savory appeal. The tannins are firm yet fine-grained, leading to a very long finish.
Made in traditional open fermenters and matured for 16 months in French oak (100% new) this wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered and honors Ronnie’s warm personality, ‘photographic palate’ and instinctive flair for winemaking.

Beside the house is the oak tree his wife, Ansela van de Caab, planted. The strength and beauty of the tree is testament to the steadfast love Lourens had for his Ansela.
