A well-integrated and honed Sauvignon Blanc. Bright green and golden in color, with prominent aromas of citrus, tropical fruits, and black currants. This wine has a good weight and roundness on the palate.
The grapes for our Elements Range are sourced from three different vineyards, all of which have different soils and climates. This Sauvignon Blanc is sourced equally from Elgin (50%), and Franschhoek (50%). Elgin is the coolest area with bokkeveld shale. It has a cooler climate which is best for aromatic grapes, allowing them to retain their bright acidity. Franschhoek is more moderate in climate and has sandy soil. It is ideal for more tropical notes in Sauvignon Blanc grapes, and the shadows of the mountains help to moderate the climate for more complex aromas in the wine. The barrels are seasoned, dry, and are without toasting for up to five years, before being steamed. They are then used for 16 months to make the wine.

Paserene is a small, family operated winery owned by Martin Smith and Ndabe Mareda, the sole purpose of which is to produce high-end, luxury wines. Great care was given to ensure that the wines produced, and artwork on the labels, are truly authentic to its “sense of place and people” and will guarantee a lasting legacy. The name Paserene comes from the Latin word Passeriformes, the order of "traveling and free" birds containing swifts and swallows. Paserene is situated in the quaint town of Franschhoek and is home to their award-winning wine range. A professional and contemporary tasting lounge is situated on the property.
