Description
The nose opens with aromas of lemon peel and fresh citrus, joined by subtle dried fruit notes from a small portion of naturally mutated Sémillon Gris. On the palate, the wine is creamy yet precise, with vibrant acidity carrying flavors of citrus, orchard fruit, and delicate herbal complexity. Fermentation in amphora and oak barrels, followed by ten months of maturation, adds texture and quiet structure while preserving freshness. The finish is long, elegant, and quietly powerful.
Part of Rickety Bridge’s Regna Loca range, meaning “local kingdoms”, this series celebrates the natural bond between grape and place. In Franschhoek, old vine Sémillon stands as one of the valley’s most historic and noble expressions.
A wonderful pairing for butter-poached fish, roast chicken, creamy seafood pasta, or aged Comté and Gruyère.
The grapes, including the Sémillon Gris component, were 100% whole-bunch pressed before natural settling. Fermentation took place in a combination of amphora and barrels, followed by 10 months maturation.
