Bold yet beautifully balanced, this Rhône-style blend from Walker Bay showcases rich notes of ripe plum, black pepper, and savoury olive tapenade. Layers of dark fruit are lifted by hints of umami, delivering a textured and expressive palate with elegant spice and depth. Crafted from Syrah and Grenache grown in the cool-climate vineyards of Hemel-en-Aarde, the wine offers complexity without heaviness. A versatile red that's as food-friendly as it is cellar-worthy.
Our Syrah (75%) and Grenache (25%) grapes were hand-harvested at peak ripeness for purity and balance. Fermentation took place in large foudres and stainless steel to preserve fruit integrity. The wine was then aged for 14 months in a mix of 10% new and 50% second- and third-fill French oak barrels, adding depth without overpowering the fruit. This gentle approach allows the Rhône-style character to shine through with elegance and finesse.
