Simonsig

The story of Simonsig began in 1968 with 500 cases of wine that were hand-labelled by matriarch Liza Malan and shipped across the country by railway, under the entrepreneurial leadership of Frans Malan. The visionary founder was also a trailblazer of the MCC, pioneering South Africa's first bottle-fermented sparkling wine, the beloved 'Kaapse Vonkel', in 1971. From its scenic locale in Stellebosch with dramatic views of the Simonsberg Mountain, Simonsig is producing some of South Africa's most highly acclaimed and widely enjoyed portfolios of wines.
