A beautifully layered and expressive white blend from Stellenbosch, the De Morgenzon Maestro White 2021 offers a vibrant nose of ripe orange and yellow stone fruit, underpinned by hints of citrus zest, white blossoms, and gentle spice. The palate is opulent yet balanced—full-bodied and textured with subtle complexity that unfolds gracefully in the glass. A lingering finish adds to its charm, making it a standout wine for those who appreciate elegance and depth. Perfect for pairing with creamy seafood dishes or roast poultry.
Our Maestro White 2021 was born from vertically trellised vineyards positioned to soak up the morning sun and cool ocean breezes from False Bay, grown on weathered granite and sandstone soils. Thanks to a cool, steady 2020 season, the fruit retained vibrant acidity and depth of flavor. Grapes were whole-bunch pressed, naturally fermented in French oak barrels and cement eggs, and aged for 10 months. The final blend was gently fined and filtered for purity before bottling.

De Morgenzon, ‘the morning sun,’ was so named as it is the first part of the Stellenboschkloof valley to see the sun because of its high altitude and aspects. Their slopes rise from about 200m to nearly 400m above sea level and their vistas embrace Cape Town, Table Mountain, Cape Point, Cape Hangklip, the Hottentots Holland mountains, Helderberg and Simonsberg with the ocean as a backdrop. The reputation of Wendy and Hylton Applebaum’s estate continues its ascent - one regularly marked by genuinely prestigious international and local awards.
