Deep ruby at the core, this full-bodied Anwilka Red Blend opens with bold aromas of red berries, oak spice, and cracked white pepper. The palate reveals layers of poached plum, cedar, and a touch of coastal salinity, wrapped in firm, ripe tannins and a luxuriously textured mouthfeel. Its balance of fruit, spice, and structure delivers immediate drinking pleasure, while its complexity and poise promise exceptional cellar potential. A true Stellenbosch standout.
Harvested at first light for optimal freshness, our 2018 grapes arrived cool to the cellar, where a second sorting ensured only the finest fruit made it through. Fermentation was gently managed for balanced extraction, followed by basket pressing to preserve purity. After malolactic fermentation in a mix of new and seasoned French oak, the wine matured for 19 months in 400L barrels—50% first fill—developing structure, spice, and the layered elegance this stellar vintage deserved.
