Crafted from select Franschhoek vineyards, the 2017 Holden Manz Proprietors Red Blend is a rich, full-bodied wine with layers of ripe black cherry, raspberry, cassis, and a whisper of pencil shavings. Hints of white pepper, nutmeg, and toasted oak bring depth to the palate, while fine tannins and balanced acidity deliver a silky yet structured finish. Aged to perfection, this red blend showcases the power and elegance of South African terroir. Ideal for collectors and connoisseurs, it’s a cellar-worthy wine that offers both immediate pleasure and long-term reward.
The 2017 vintage was shaped by a warm, dry growing season and smaller berries with exceptional concentration, color, and natural acidity. Thanks to minimal disease pressure, we used limited intervention, allowing the fruit to shine. Long, cool nights and mild summer days led to slow, even ripening—ideal for crafting a red blend with depth, freshness, and fine tannin structure. This vintage stands out for its purity and balance, even in a drought year.
