The 2024 Simonsig Chenin Blanc is a dry, unwooded white wine that captures the essence of Stellenbosch with vibrant notes of lemon zest, green apple, and white pear. A tribute to Simonsig’s first release in 1968, this wine carries over five decades of legacy in every sip. Its fresh acidity and hint of honey make it both crisp and beautifully balanced. This is a benchmark South African Chenin Blanc—versatile, refreshing, and rooted in history. A must-try for lovers of iconic Cape whites.
The Chenin Blanc grapes were hand-picked at peak ripeness, with select lots given overnight skin contact for added texture and aromatics. After cold settling to brilliant clarity, the juice was fermented at 12–14°C using carefully selected yeast strains to enhance vibrant tropical fruit character. A slow, cool fermentation preserved the freshness and purity of the fruit, resulting in a crisp, expressive Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc that’s all about flavor and finesse.
