A beautifully layered white blend from Swartland, Miles Mossop Saskia 2021 shines with a golden straw hue and an alluring bouquet of white peach, grapefruit, honeysuckle, and citrus blossom.
The palate is rich and full, unfolding with vibrant stone fruit and citrus notes that lead to a creamy, textured mid-palate. A pithy, elegant finish lingers with hints of toasted almonds and a touch of white pepper spice.

The grapes are all sourced from vineyards situated on the northern slopes of the Paardeberg mountain growing in decomposed granite soils. Most of the vineyards are older bush-vines, unirrigated and low yielding. Each vineyard and variety are picked at various sugar ripeness levels to express the site best and to contribute their unique character to the blend.
The grapes are picked into small crates and placed into a cold store overnight. The following morning the grapes are gently whole bunch pressed and the juice is settled overnight after which it is then run to 400 liter French oak barrels as well as a concrete egg for fermentation. The fermentation is allowed to start naturally and once completed the wine is topped and matured sur-lie for 10 months with regular lees stirring in French Oak, 22% being new. 20% of this wine is fermented and matured in a concrete egg.
This wine drinks well on release but will reward with cellaring for up to 10 years from harvest.

Established in 2004, Miles Mossop Wines is a family-run winery dedicated to crafting distinctive South African wines that authentically express their terroir. Founded by winemaker and viticulturist Miles Mossop, the winery sources grapes from select vineyards across the Western Cape, chosen for their potential to produce exceptional wines. With a limited production of 80 tons annually—approximately 1,800 cases of white, 2,200 cases of red, and a small quantity of dessert wine—Miles Mossop Wines focuses on quality over quantity.
Their portfolio includes three distinct ranges: The Introduction, featuring approachable, fruit-forward wines; The Chapters, a collection of terroir-driven, single-varietal wines; and The Family, flagship wines named after Miles' family members, each reflecting the highest quality in their style. This commitment to excellence results in handcrafted wines that balance finesse, elegance, and power, embodying the true character of South African viticulture.
