A delayed, but good, winter rainfall allowed for adequate replenishing of reserves. A cool and wet spring allowed soil profiles to become well saturated. Winter was not as cold as the previous year but there was sufficient building up of reserves. A cool budding period was experienced with delayed bud break.
Veraison occurred later and ripening was prolonged due to low day temperatures which allowed for exceptional colour and flavor in the berries. A vintage showing high quality wines with good ageing potential.

Uva Mira translates as 'The Wonderful Grape', Uva is the Latin word for grape, Mira means wonderful, miraculous and full of charm. Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards is located within the area widely recognized as the “Golden Triangle,” renowned for its noble grape varieties and production of wines of outstanding quality. Our Estate is 127 hectares in size - 33 hectares of which are under vine.

Our vineyards are positioned between 260 and 620 meters above sea level and only nine kilometers from False Bay. This creates the climate for wines that are by definition elegant in style.
