Perdeberg

Located in fertile 'Agter Paarl' area at the foot of the magnificent Paardeberg Mountain, named after the scores of Cape Mountain Zebra that once roamed its slopes, the Perdeberg district is blessed with many attributes that make producing wonderful and varied wine a pleasure. In the early 1940s, wine farmers in the Perdeberg region grew dissatisfied with the low prices they were getting for their premium quality grapes. It was then that an astute farmer named Jan Rossouw suggested they begin producing their own wine, and Perdeberg Cellar was born. They pressed their first grapes manually in 1942 and are still renowned for their hands-on approach to winemaking.
