This refined Cabernet Sauvignon opens with complex layers of cassis, black cherry, cedar, and earthy spice. Sleek and polished on entry, the palate reveals a perfect balance of dark berry fruit, fresh acidity, and well-integrated oak. Notes of tobacco leaf and herbal nuance emerge alongside firm yet graceful tannins. Sophisticated and age-worthy, it’s built to impress now or cellar beautifully for 10+ years.
Crafted from handpicked Franschhoek fruit, our 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon began with whole berries double-sorted for purity, then gravity-fed into fermenters. Natural fermentation followed a cold soak, unlocking deep fruit character. After extended maceration, the wine matured 24 months in 50% new French oak and aged in bottle for two more years—unfiltered, structured, and built to age. Only 34 barriques made.

Anthonij Rupert Wines was founded on the farm L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, who passed away in 2001, the farm was taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-the-art winemaking facility on the estate, and the beginnings of what was to become a sprawling enterprise with a focus on terroir specific wines.
