Fresh and focused, this Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromas of lemon zest, snap pea, and subtle herbal notes. The palate reveals layers of ripe kiwi, winter melon, and a bright citrus lift that lingers on the finish. More structured than your typical Sauvignon Blanc, it offers a crisp yet generous texture that makes it an ideal partner for light summer dishes, seafood, or salads. A vibrant white that overdelivers on both freshness and finesse.
Grown on the cool, south-facing slopes of Stellenboschkloof, our Sauvignon Blanc grapes thrive in weathered granite soils and coastal breezes. A cool spring and careful vineyard management led to healthy, vibrant fruit at harvest. In the cellar, grapes were gently pressed, cold-settled, and fermented slowly at low temperatures to preserve purity of fruit. Extended lees contact with gentle stirring built texture and balance, creating a Sauvignon Blanc that’s fresh, expressive, and full of character.

De Morgenzon, ‘the morning sun,’ was so named as it is the first part of the Stellenboschkloof valley to see the sun because of its high altitude and aspects. Their slopes rise from about 200m to nearly 400m above sea level and their vistas embrace Cape Town, Table Mountain, Cape Point, Cape Hangklip, the Hottentots Holland mountains, Helderberg and Simonsberg with the ocean as a backdrop. The reputation of Wendy and Hylton Applebaum’s estate continues its ascent - one regularly marked by genuinely prestigious international and local awards.
