Bold and refined, the 2021 Lanzerac Le Général is a limited-release red blend named in tribute to French General Lanrezac. This Stellenbosch flagship is a barrel selection of the estate’s finest Cabernet-based red wine of the vintage. Aromas of vanilla, nutmeg, and subtle smoke lead into a rich palate of blackcurrant, plum, and dark berries, supported by smooth tannins and a long, luxurious finish. Powerful yet polished, it’s a perfect match for hearty meats or decadent chocolate desserts.
Crafted in a classic Left Bank style, this blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 10% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot was matured for 20 months in a mix of new and second-fill 300L French oak barrels. Each varietal was vinified and aged separately to preserve its unique character before careful blending. The result is a powerful yet elegant red blend that reflects both precision winemaking and the pedigree of our Stellenbosch terroir.
