Bartinney Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 from Stellenbosch is a rich and expressive South African red wine with depth, structure, and impressive aging potential. A gentle hint of vanilla greets the senses on the nose, leading into luscious ripe berry fruit that gives the wine its generous and inviting character. Subtle notes of cocoa add further complexity, complementing the fruit beautifully and bringing an extra layer of warmth and refinement. On the palate, this fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon is balanced by a firm tannin backbone that provides structure and length, carrying the wine to a polished finish. Bold yet elegant, Bartinney Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a classic Stellenbosch red wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for further development over time.
Selective picking and hand sorting of grapes ensured that only the best grapes end up in the fermentation tank. During fermentation, the must was pumped over in stainless steel fermenters and punched down in open-top wooden vats. Total time on the skins before pressing can be up to 25 days. The wine was then matured for up to 18 months in French oak 225l barrels, of which 45% is new.

Now Rose and Michael Jordaan tend to the 28-hectare farm, with a vision to create excellent wines and reawaken the charm of the historic land. Creating excellence in wine has not been a singular pursuit. Their belief is that every aspect must work in harmony: agriculture with nature, people with animals, sustainability with excellence.
