Villiera Estate Chenin Blanc 2025 is a Stellenbosch white built in a bright, fruit-forward style, with enough texture and subtle cellar detail to give it more shape than a purely simple early-drinking wine. This is a classic South African Chenin Blanc in approach, balancing tropical fruit, citrus freshness, and a lightly rounded palate without losing the energy that makes the variety so appealing. It is the kind of bottle that works just as easily as a weeknight white as it does at a more serious table.
The nose opens with ripe pineapple, guava, and citrus, lifted by a faint note of wood spice. On the palate, the wine is rich enough to feel generous, but refreshing enough to stay focused, with the fruit carried by a clean line of acidity and a long, satisfying finish. There is a nice balance here between youthful brightness and a little extra texture, making it especially well suited to grilled fish, roast chicken, creamy seafood dishes, or salads with citrus and herbs.
Already highly enjoyable, this vintage should drink well now for its freshness and fruit clarity, while also rewarding a few years in bottle as it gains a little more depth.

After crushing and destalking, the grapes were given about 4 hours of skin contact before gentle pressing, while the earlier-picked portion was whole-bunch pressed. Following overnight settling, the clear juice underwent spontaneous cold fermentation. Thirty percent of the wine was fermented in oak, then removed from barrel immediately after fermentation to preserve freshness rather than add heavy oak character. The final blend remained on the lees for 2 months before stabilization and bottling, contributing subtle texture and palate weight.
