Vrede en Lust Boet Erasmus Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Simonsberg-Paarl is a poised and understated South African red wine with purity, structure, and excellent aging potential. The nose is youthful and expressive, showing lifted red and black fruit alongside notes of tobacco, vanilla, and a gentle touch of earthiness. Medium-bodied in style, the palate is defined by pure fruit, bright acidity, and fine tannins that give the wine both elegance and direction. The finish is long and savoury, adding further refinement to its balanced, classic profile. Graceful yet quietly powerful, Vrede en Lust Boet Erasmus Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a polished Cabernet Sauvignon that promises rewarding development over time.
Each component of this wine was harvested at the point of optimal ripeness and fermented in stainless steel tanks. A portion of the juice completed malolactic fermentation in 225L oak barrels. The wine was matured in French oak barrels (35% new) for 16-18 months.
