The Steenberg Semillon 2024 shines in a pale gold hue, offering captivating aromas of dried apricot, orange blossom, nectarine, and hints of cinnamon and golden apple. On the palate, layers of ripe stone fruit are enriched by custard and vanilla pod notes, unfolding into a broad, textured mid-palate with a refined waxy richness. Balanced by lively acidity and lingering citrus spice, this wine is elegant now but will gain even more depth and complexity with age.
Harvested late February 2024 at 24°B, this Semillon was gently crushed and fermented in large French oak barrels for complexity. The wine matured on gross lees for 3 months, then aged 10 months in a mix of new, second, and older 500L–600L French oak. Lightly fined and bottled in January 2024, it shows refined texture, depth, and elegance.
