The Beyerskloof Eerste Ry Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium, small-production wine that represents the pinnacle of the estate’s Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from the oldest vineyard blocks, this wine is crafted with precision and built for both complexity and long-term cellaring.
The nose is intense and layered, showing cassis, dark berries, and ripe black fruit, complemented by notes of spice, savoury oak, and subtle dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is structured and powerful, with excellent depth and concentration. Firm, well-integrated tannins provide backbone and balance, while the oak adds complexity without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is long, smooth, and persistent, reflecting both precision and careful maturation.
A serious, collector-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine pairs beautifully with braised beef short ribs, mature sirloin, roast duck, mushroom risotto, or a steak with blue cheese sauce.

The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness from the estate’s oldest vineyards and fermented in open fermenters, with skin contact for 5–8 days at 25–28°C. Intensive punch-downs every two hours ensured maximum extraction of color, flavor, and tannin.
Following fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks before being matured for 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels, building structure, depth, and complexity. After bottling, the wine was cellared for an additional two years prior to release, allowing further integration and refinement.
