Bright and fruit-forward, this Pinotage brims with juicy red currants, raspberry, and hints of blueberry layered beneath a touch of gentle oak. The palate is velvety and well-rounded, with smooth, integrated tannins and a whisper of smokiness that adds depth without overpowering the fruit. A soft, lingering finish leaves behind notes of ripe berries and subtle spice. Elegant yet easy-drinking, it's a beautiful expression of South Africa’s signature varietal. Drink now or over the next few years.
We harvested the Pinotage early in February at 24˚ Balling, under ideal conditions that preserved vibrant fruit character. Fermentation took place in open-top tanks at 22–25˚C with twice-daily punchdowns to gently extract color and tannin. After 21 days on skins, we pressed and transferred the wine for malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. Maturation followed in 15% new and 85% seasoned French oak for 12–14 months, enhancing texture without overshadowing the fruit.
