Description

Bold yet refined, the 2021 Big G Red Blend from Holden Manz opens with aromas of cassis, blackberry, and graphite, laced with subtle notes of cedarwood and pencil shavings. Layers of plum and mulberry add richness to the nose, while the palate delivers supple tannins, a creamy cassis core, and a silky, fruit-driven mid-palate. Expect lingering notes of dark fruit on the finish, with striking balance and tension. This wine has serious aging potential—enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years. Perfect with beef Wellington, Karoo lamb, or a classic French daube de boeuf.
We hand-harvested and meticulously sorted only the best berries from our designated Big G vineyard blocks. All varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot—were wild fermented and co-fermented in open-top fermenters for enhanced complexity. Aged 20 months in 30% new French oak, this vintage reveals remarkable depth, tension, and cellar-worthiness.
