Description

Elegant and complex, this vintage Cap Classique offers a thrilling contrast of bright citrus energy and creamy lees character. Aromas of nectarine, citrus leaf, and artisanal sourdough unfold alongside hints of kelp and sea spray. The palate is electric—zesty lemon, grapefruit, and orange zest are framed by vivid acidity and a mineral edge of oyster shell and flint. As it evolves, a richer, textural depth emerges—layered with baked brioche and yeasty complexity. Balanced and expressive, it’s both a celebration of terroir and time. A crisp, refined Méthode Cap Classique with cellar-worthy finesse.
Hand-picked in the cool of early morning, our Chardonnay grapes were whole-bunch pressed and fermented in a mix of steel and barrel to preserve purity. We avoided malolactic fermentation to lock in freshness, then matured the wine on lees in bottle for four years. This long aging builds texture, finesse, and complexity—hallmarks of an exceptional vintage.

Winemaker: Dawie Botha
Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, who passed away in 2001, the farm was taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-the-art winemaking facility on the estate, and the beginnings of what was to become a sprawling enterprise with a focus on terroir specific wines.
