Rich and refined, the 2022 La Motte Hanneli R is a Syrah-driven Rhône blend that delivers both power and poise. Deeply layered with notes of dark berries, subtle spice, and earthy undertones, it offers a full-bodied palate with well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. Crafted for complexity and structure, this wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled steaks, and aged cheeses. A true expression of Franschhoek terroir with remarkable aging potential.
Crafted from the finest Syrah and Petite Sirah parcels of the vintage, each component of the 2022 Hanneli R was vinified and aged separately in 600L French oak barrels for 30 months before blending. The cool-climate Syrah from Elim brings lifted aromatics and minerality, while Franschhoek’s Petite Sirah adds structure, richness, and depth. The result is a wine of power and elegance, with perfumed spice, silky texture, and a long, graceful finish. Only 3,586 bottles were made.
