Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Satin Nectar is a demi-sec Cap Classique made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s most important sparkling wine regions. Built in a softer, fruit-driven style, it offers a slightly sweeter expression than a traditional Brut while still holding onto the freshness and lift that make Cap Classique so appealing. It is the kind of bottle that works beautifully as an aperitif but also has enough character to carry through a meal.
In the glass, it shows a pale lemon color with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose leans into yellow fruit, apple sherbet, and light floral notes, while the palate brings gentle sweetness, bright acidity, and a creamy bead that keeps everything lively rather than heavy. The finish is clean and energetic, making it especially good with lightly spiced dishes, fruit-led desserts, glazed ham, or soft cheeses where a touch of sweetness can really work in the wine’s favor.
Made to be enjoyed on release, this is an easygoing but well-made sparkling wine that delivers charm, freshness, and balance without trying too hard.

All grapes were handpicked and whole-bunch pressed in pneumatic presses to capture only the cuvée, the purest juice fraction. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 16°C using selected yeast strains to preserve fruit purity and freshness. The wine then underwent bottle fermentation and was aged on the lees for at least 12 months before disgorgement. A larger dosage was added at disgorgement to achieve the house demi-sec style and maintain balance.
