Crafted from a lower vineyard site with warmer Oakleaf soils, The Mira Shiraz 2022 reveals a refined and elegant expression of Stellenbosch terroir. Aromas of creamy red berries, violets, and hints of tobacco leaf and leather lead into a palate of crisp cherry, black olive, and sweet spice. A cool herbal lift and silky tannins carry through to a bright, savoury finish. Juicy, precise, and irresistibly drinkable—this is Shiraz with mountain-bred finesse and coastal freshness.
The 2022 vintage offered near-perfect growing conditions—cool temperatures, generous winter rainfall, and even snow on the Helderberg peaks. Gentle winds and steady moisture throughout the season led to slow, even ripening. These conditions gave us berries with remarkable concentration and balance, capturing the elegance and finesse we strive for in every bottle. It was one of the most rewarding harvests we've experienced, and the wine reflects that purity and poise.

Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards is nestled against the Helderberg Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch. With breathtaking views of False Bay and Table Bay, often wrapped in clouds, a cool climate, sea breezes, a granite foundation and strong minerality of the soil, enhanced by acres of fynbos.... nature does her work. The position at altitude with vineyards as high as 620 metres above sea level creates the climate for wines that are elegant in style.
