A bold, structured red blend from the heart of Paarl, the 2020 Boet Erasmus opens with a deep bouquet of ripe blackberries and dark cherry, layered with subtle oak, cedar spice, and a whisper of tobacco. On the palate, cassis and black cherry fruit meet fine-grained tannins, while notes of vanilla and dried herbs add depth and polish. Rich, refined, and unmistakably expressive of its warm-climate origin, this wine finishes long and smooth—perfectly suited to grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or slow-cooked winter stews. A collector-worthy bottle that beautifully balances power and elegance.
Crafted with care from hand-harvested grapes grown on our Paarl estate, each variety in this red blend was vinified separately to preserve its unique character. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with regular pump-overs for gentle extraction. The wine matured for 18 months in a selection of 225L French oak barrels—40% new—to add depth, structure, and finesse before final blending. The result is a wine with power, polish, and age-worthy complexity.
