Description

Bottle fermented and aged for 3 months before degorgement. This fresh and fruit driven sparkling wines shows notes of strawberries, lemon zest and tropical fruits on the nose, followed by a light and refreshing palate and bright acidity.
At Haute Cabrière, the von Arnim family specialises in wines created from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varietals. This wine pays tribute to the versatility of both. This exciting addition marks the evolution of Tranquille into a range of its own. A fresh, vibrant, naturally-fermented sparkling wine, the new Tranquille Sparkle; embodies the quality synonymous with Haute Cabrière. The result is a fun and chic wine that is lower in alcohol, expressive in flavour, and perfect for all occasions.

Winemaker: Tim Hoek
Cradled by mountains in the scenic Franschhoek valley, Cabrière is deeply rooted in history. The range of Pierre Jourdan wines produced on the estate honour the memory of French Huguenot Pierre Jourdan, who was granted the land on December 22, 1694. He named his property Cabrière, after the village he had fled from near Avignon, and planted the first vines.

Proprietor Achim von Arnim bought the land for the purpose of producing wine in the Champagne style, called Methodé Cap Classique or MCC in South Africa. An enthusiast whose lust for life is expressed in winegrowing. Achim says simply: “It was as if Cabrière had been waiting for me.”

Achim bought a second property, aptly named Haute Cabrière. The philosophy and speciality is producing wine exclusively from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The iconic Chardonnay Pinot Noir blend was a South African first, leading the market in a blend of these varietals.

Currently overseeing the wine-making is 2nd generation Cellar Master, Takuan von Arnim. He shares his father’s philosophy of the importance of terroir and the passion for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
