The Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé 2024 continues the estate’s pioneering legacy in Méthode Cap Classique, offering a vibrant and elegant sparkling wine crafted in the traditional bottle-fermented style. Sourced from carefully managed vineyards in Stellenbosch, the wine reflects the balance and finesse that have made Kaapse Vonkel one of South Africa’s most respected Cap Classique labels.
The wine shows a beautiful rose-gold hue with a fine, persistent mousse. Aromas of fresh cherry and wild strawberry lift from the glass, layered with delicate notes of rose petals, Turkish delight, and subtle candied fruit. On the palate, lively red berry flavors are supported by crisp acidity and a creamy texture developed through extended lees ageing. The finish is bright, refreshing, and elegantly dry, making this sparkling rosé both expressive and beautifully balanced.
Perfect as a celebratory aperitif, this Cap Classique also pairs effortlessly with fresh seafood, sushi, light appetizers, and West Coast rock lobster, where its freshness and delicate fruit complement richer flavors.

The grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed to obtain the purest juice fractions. Primary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 14–16°C using selected yeast strains to preserve aromatic freshness.
After blending, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in bottle following the traditional Méthode Cap Classique process, creating its fine bubbles. The wine is then matured on the lees for at least 16 months in cool underground cellars, allowing the mousse to develop finesse and complexity before disgorgement and a small dosage is added to achieve the final brut balance.
