Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards The Mira Cabernet Franc 2023 is a high-altitude Stellenbosch red built around perfume, precision, and fine tannin structure. The style favors freshness and detail over weight, allowing Cabernet Franc’s floral, herbal, and mineral character to come through with clarity.
The nose opens with rosewater, wild florals, and red fruit pastille, followed by graphite, dried herbs, and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, red cherry, raspberry, and cranberry are carried by a silky texture and powder-fine tannins. Chalky minerality, sage, tobacco leaf, and pencil shaving notes add savory complexity, while bright acidity keeps the wine focused through a dry, persistent finish. It would pair especially well with roast lamb, duck, venison, or mushroom-based dishes.
This is a structured, age-worthy Cabernet Franc that is already expressive but should continue to gain complexity over the next several years.

The wine matured for 17 months in French oak barrels, with 35% new oak. The barrel program was used to build structure, fine tannin, and subtle spice while keeping the fruit and varietal character clearly defined. The extended maturation supports both integration and long-term aging potential.

Uva Mira translates as "The Wonderful Grape". Uva is the Latin word for grape, Mira means wonderful, miraculous and full of charm. Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards is located within the area widely recognised as the “Golden Triangle,” renowned for its noble grape varieties and production of wines of outstanding quality.
Our Estate is 127 hectares in size - 33 hectares of which are under vine. Six varietals are grown, namely Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our vineyards are positioned between 260 and 620 metres above sea level and only nine kilometres from False Bay. This creates the climate for wines that are by definition elegant in style.
Our fine wines are handcrafted using only grapes from the vineyard sites on our property, to truly express the unique traits of our remarkable site. Wines of elegance, minerality and longevity.
