Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a Stellenbosch white that appears to aim for a more layered, textural style than a sharply cut, overtly green expression of the variety. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Jonkershoek Valley, it combines fresh fruit, lees-derived texture, and a mineral line that gives the wine both brightness and shape. This is a Sauvignon Blanc with a little more breadth than usual, but it still holds onto freshness and clarity.
The wine opens with notes of green apple, white peach, pear, and lemongrass, creating a profile that feels lifted and inviting. On the palate, bright acidity keeps the fruit focused, while extended lees contact brings a silky, lightly creamy texture that adds substance without dulling the wine’s energy. The finish stays crisp and mineral, making it especially good with oysters, grilled asparagus, or seared scallops where its freshness and texture can work naturally with the food.
Already highly approachable, this is a Sauvignon Blanc built for early enjoyment, with enough texture and balance to make it feel polished rather than simple.
The fruit was hand-harvested from high-altitude Stellenbosch vineyards and gently crushed before six hours of skin contact to build aromatic detail and palate depth. Fermentation took place at 12 to 14°C over 10 days to preserve freshness and fruit purity. Only the free-run juice was used, helping maintain clarity and a crisp, mineral-driven finish that reflects the Jonkershoek Valley origin.
